What data is collected? Why is it collected?

User Data

For users that register on this website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Your user profile will remain on our website indefinitely unless you choose to delete it.

Comment Data

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Click here to view the gravatar privacy policy.

After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. Your comment will remain on our website indefinitely unless you choose to delete it.

Media Data

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. Your media will remain on our website indefinitely unless you choose to delete it.

Form Data

Our general contact form is used for our legitimate business interests, such as booking enquiries and general correspondence. Contact submitted through this form is delivered to our email address via a 3rd party SMTP service (Gmail Oauth2.0) to ensure email delivery.

This data is held indefinitely unless you ask us to remove it.

Usage & Analytic Data

To continually improve user experience on our website, we make use of different usage monitoring services.

We use Google Analytics, a service that records website traffic and monitors. We do not collect any information from analytics that would allow us to personally identify individual users.

You can opt-out of google analytic tracking when you first visit our website by selecting 'functional only' cookies.

For a list of cookies utilized on this site please view our cookie policy.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

Your data will only be shared with approved members of our organisation, web administrators (where necessary) & any relevant 3rd party service providers detailed in the ‘What data is collected? Why is it collected’ section above.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

You can also request that we erase any other personal data we hold about you by contacting us directly. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
